Circle casting

The circle casting used by the Order is derived from the groups to which we are connected thorugh our lineage. This is derived from the horse traditions that have roots in the Victorian and earlier periods. It does not derive from any of the traditions that appeared following the repeal of the Witchcraft Act in 1951.

We are not have an initiatory lineage to Robert Cochrane or the Thames Valley Coven or to any other tradition that is inspired by Cochrane. Cochrane is however an important inspiration because our central ethos and philosophy is the Wiccan Rede. We believe that this is derived from Doreen Valiente’s speech at the Witchcraft Research Association dinner on 3rd October 1964. At this time Valiente was a member of Cochrane’s Thames Valley Coven.
